_REPLACING OLD FILLINGS CONTAINING MERCURY

Amalgam fillings were placed in the past. It is the silver/black unsightly fillings usually on back teeth.
Amalgam contains Mercury(Hg) which is a poisonous substance. However the mercury molecules are bonded to other metal molecules in the Amalgam fillings and in bonded form, it does not release the poisonous vapour actively.

For safety and cosmetics it would improve the situation if the Amalgams are replaced.
